We’re back: See you

all again in October

We greatly look forward to seeing you all again when we re-open on Friday 29 October 2021 with a terrific season of films, starting with a stunning Oscar-winning performance by Renee Zellweger as a troubled Judy Garland on her final UK tour.

Others include thrillers and romance, comedy and biopics, heart-warming and award-winning dramas from Britain and around the world.  Latest additions include the true story of the GCHQ whistleblower and the acclaimed 1917.

For the full programme, now with trailers for every film, click on 2021/21 season in the menu above.

And good news on subscriptions:  Current memberships will carry forward until our September 2022 film, with no renewal until October 2022.

Newcomers welcome

Membership costs only £24 for the next 12 months, or pro-rata if members join during the year.  There’s nothing more to pay.

We meet at 7 for 7.30pm on the last Friday in the month at Abbey Fields, Back Lane, Winchcombe GL54 5QH, with parking nearby. There are free refreshments or wine at just £1.50 a glass before the show.

After a short introduction, all films, even those in English, are shown with sub-titles to aid comprehension. We try to make it easy to make friends, and socialise later at the nearby Corner Cupboard.

New for this season

Nostalgia Night

For the first time, Winchcombe Film Society will hold a Nostalgia Night, to be held in June

We already have a short list of classic films to offer. We will provide you the members with a list of four, and ask you to choose just one of these Golden Oldies to be screened that evening.

And to match the occasion, we’ll be offering drinks before the film at 1950s prices (but normal prices will apply at The Corner Cupboard later!) Extraverts may treat the occasion in suitable fashion.
