Nostalgia Night

Raise your glasses on Friday 24 June for Winchcombe Film Society’s first Nostalgia Night, when we will be showing the 1949 classic Whisky Galore (UK, 1hr 22, cert. A) starring Basil Radford, Gordon Jackson, James Robertson Justice and Joan Greenwood. Click on the title for a previes.

In a members’ poll, the film received 42% of votes, with The Lavender Hill Mob on 33% and Casablanca just over 25%.

In accord with the occasion, we’ll be offering refreshments and select wines beforehand as usual, the latter at 1949 prices – Chateau Tizer 1951 Rouge or Blanc at 20p a glass (but sadly no 10-year-old malts.) Extraverts may treat the occasion in suitable fashion.
